Get to Know Me!
My name is Maxime McDonald, and I was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. I come from a French-Canadian background and am perfectly bilingual. I have had a passion for music since I was a young kid. I began playing drums at the age of eight and have not looked back ever since. With an interest in many musical styles and genres, I quickly developed my diversity in music by playing rock, pop, funk, R&B, jazz, Latin, and Afro-Cuban styles. Throughout high school, I developed a love for performance as a comedian, improviser, and musician. I am now studying at Humber Polytechnic for my Bachelor of Music with a focus on Jazz and Performance. There, I spend my time developing my musical knowledge, sharpening my drumming skills, and developing my percussion skills while playing instruments such as Timbales, Congas, and Cajon. I am also perfecting my music reading skills to adapt to any charts and circumstances. Finally, I am developing my music engineering skills in hopes of one day working both behind the kit and behind the desk in studios. I strive to work as an on-stage performer and as a studio musician or engineer in both French and English markets, and I look forward to sharing my passion with other amazing artists!
